few days will be held the Provincial Congress of the Democratic Party in Catania. I start from here to some brief consideration of the Party and the Centre-Left Tremestieri Etneo. We know what the latest political events that marked the life of PD in our community. Several leading members who have left the party to go with Rutelli, who, more or less "indirect" with Don Raffaele. I will not decide the political choices of anyone, and moreover that this is what I propose. The fact is that the party has suffered an explosion that shook him deeply. But if everything depended only on recent events, it would probably be easier to find corrective action for a fresh start.
But the roots of the crisis of the Democratic Party of Tremestieri are deeper and more back-dated: you must put back by two years and remember how they took place and when it ended the last campaign for the 'election of the mayor and city council. It 'been a campaign of light and shadow. The good news was to be presented in a compact way, the full deployment of the Centre-Left, something which I believe to have been one of the authors (Civic Renewal Tremestieri coordinating the list that brought together friends of the Democratic Party, which then do not I was a member and fellow IdV, Verdi, PRC, PDCI and Democratic Left, in addition to individual members of civil society). But also the manner in which came to the candidacy of Maria Moro (companion capable, and admirable that you put at the head of the line with great commitment and as much generosity and spirit of service) as a result of clashes between those who aspired to the same application and differences over the position to be on the ballot, although PD coalition had taken the official position of not supporting either candidate. Finally, it certainly contributed to an improved climate in the entrance junta decided by a piece of the Democratic Party, without passing by the club or PD, or by a comparison with the other party of the coalition that elected councilors, however, saw in the two PD the political reference in the City Council. Neither outcome and had a different value, the appointment of Deputy Mayor of the village of Plan (now "independent center" but then PD area ex-DS).
But to understand the reality of the next Tremestieri, we should go even further back in time and deal with a topic on which I will not go for the simple fact that he had just eaten, when I took up my residence in our town: the deep split within the section of the DS following the split within the council group due to different positions on the then mayor Giuffrida. There were fights, expulsions, divisions whose legacies we carry with us today.
The situation today is complex, delicate and extremely difficult, virtually any component that came from Margaret has been released following different roads, part of the component ex-DS is gone, including the City Council that this was an expression. Finally, those who remained (mostly friends of the "historical core" of the PCI-PDS-DS) are separated by a deep laceration that makes it one of anger and other cargo and disaffected.
And all this while in the City Council no longer have even a single representative of the Democratic Party and the Centre-Left and where the party and the parties do not exist apart from the valuable and tireless work of GD Etnea and where in three years will return to polls. On closer inspection many countries that Etna have gone or are going to renew mayors and councils, have confused and atypical situations, if we were to vote today in Tremestieri might not even be able to submit a list PD.
This situation is disheartening, but it is the duty of all of us do not make us despair.
The experience of the last municipal election campaign has shown that there is a hard core of friends who have the same feel, same goals and same will to change, experience has shown that the civil list (beyond the some staff are well low profile that occurred in both subjects which formed the coalition of center-left) is need a policy as a service and not as a mere personal interest, that can aggregate, build consensus and be an expression of discomfort of the citizens you many issues. And based on this policy, also creating a combination with those who share these goals. But to be credible, we must start now.
All this is enough? No. But it sure is a starting point. We must overcome the differences and mistrust of the past and get back to work, going beyond past grievances. E 'must create a vision for all those who do not want to resign political interests, favors and patronage.
